The first Hot birthday!

Well today started with a bang (a scare really as i have hit the over the hill mark!) no explosions :) but an explosive start to the day !

Up at 05.45 and down to the airport! (yes Hervey Bay does have one!) Then 15 minutes later and a pink fluffy drinks holder (which i am saving for Nick!) as a present from the Flight company, we were up in the air.

Tims last wish was that we were not flying in the cesner as he had heard they fall out of the sky all the time!! And low and behold it was :) Colour draining from his face and perking up in mine!

In the plane we clambered and all safely tucked in off we went! up and away and heading to Point Vernon where we live as i wanted a good look over the area and the house!

I had no idea where we were so i just kept taking pictures in the hope i would get it in one of them! And i did, i will put it up here but you need to enhance it to about 100% to see the house i have marked it in red so it should be easier to find than the half hour it took me!

Tim took one and even go the dog in the garden! so when he gets back he will put it up i am sure! (Tim was called out to do some work on a friends PC so i am waiting for him to come back and then we were going for a drink)

You will just have to make do with mine for now!

When we landed i was taken to breakfast, having a nice muffin and chocolate milkshake (Dave gave me hassle for putting down all the food that we have eaten over our time here and said he was bored and did not want to read that in the blog!

So sorry Dave, it was my first ever hot birthday and to have an ice-cream milk shake on it and not freeze to death was an experience for me!

We then got home to find a bunch of flowers had tried to be delivered and a note saying to ring! Well my little baby sent me flowers from the other side of the world!!!! How fantastic! and what a nice treat, my first ever bunch of flowers in Oz! Lots of firsts today! :) They even smelled as good as they looked, with a cute ickkle ladybird stuck on a leaf (not a real one, just wood) and some glitter on the gerbera and the red roses! And strangely all the roses smell great, not sure how forced they are in the UK but i have had very few that have had a smell at all!

Back at the house was a gift waiting from John and Dulcie a lovely stained glass beginners book to inspire me more! So move over Steve Sherrif Yvonne's in Oz and loves it! The house will be filled with it and every one will get glass gifts from now on so be warned!

My morning wake up of the larakeets was not to be, as there is a shortage of sunflowers seeds and you just cant get them anywhere so the bird have gone else where to get what they want :(

We are out to dinner tonight with some friends at Hoolihans the Irish bar/foody place, so looking forward to celebrating getting old with different friends (strange not having the old ones around to hassle you!).

Well talking of hassle! a big thanks Margaret for reminding me that i am 6 months older than her and that i will need a sheep dog bra!! to round my breasts up and point them in the right direction! :) You wait for your birthday girl!!! Mum and Dad for again reminding me how old i am!!, Shirley, Bob and Tracey and Avril! To be honest i was not expecting any all this way (as you have to be very organised to send them a week in advance!) but i did get the e-greeting cards from, my Aunt Lorna (very switched on and hip she is) Nick and Gary! As you are all fast asleep and its not really my birthday yet i am sure there will be more to come tonight so please dont be upset, i probably did get your message but while i was out at dinner or sleeping!

And fro those who forget!!!I will remind you constantly every day until my next birthday!

You better all start saving up as when i hit the big 50 there is going to be a big party here in Oz (if i make the next 3 years without being eaten by a shark or bitten by a snake or spider!)

As Tim is not back and it is 15.30 i will get my own beer from the fridge and read my stained glass window making book (and have 40 winks!) before i go out for dinner tonight!

will add more blog later after we have been out for dinner!

big luv to you all and lots of thanks for remembering me

Y
xx

When Harry Met Ronnie

Flash Harry's!!!

Another one of Tim's favourite shops, he is always teasing me that he has seen Harry in the store at Pialba Place Hervey Bay!

Last week we went shopping and there he was large as life! So as his ad is so dynamic and must have cost millions to make I thought that I would ask him if I could have my picture taken with him to show the folks back home!
This is a local shop for local people!

Click below to see his advert!
Takes a while to load so be patient! :)

Flash Advert!

Harry (aka Adrian) was very obliging and put on his best grin for me!

Apparently there are bus loads shipped in from Bundy to just go and see Harry! And they all ask to have their photo taken with him!!

What a star!

The last puppy class

Well time flys !

Cooper finished his puppy-pre school on Thursday this week (now Sunday4th Feb)!

He weighed in at 4.6kg and finished 4 weeks later at a weight of 14.6kg !

And 6 new teeth!

The old ones he left buried in us! :)

So there it is, he can now sit, lie down, roll over, walk almost to heal and stay!!

What a great boy!

He got a certificate and his very own bandanna, when we got home roxy looked miserable so we went out the next day and got her one too!

We will now enrol him in training classes and see if we can get roxy in to!

Finally cool fanny

Ok! it has taken 3 weeks, swearing, cussing, itching, scratching sweating, frowning and general grumpiness from Tim to put up the combined ceiling fan and light!

So Luke don't moan about doing loads of jobs in the house as a child, as you must have learnt a lot with me letting you have a go at all the household tasks! :)

Then finally Tim got the light up and sorted but when you switched on the fan the light came on too which it was not meant to!!??? He got very grumpy with me when I said he would have to sort that out as it meant that he had some wires around the wrong way! So back to the drawing board and a phone call to Colin to ask for advice (Tim did not want Colin to do it he wanted to do it himself!), Colin kindly came around the next day and diagnosed the problem leaving some proper cable and Tim to sort it.

Finally it was done, light working on the light switch and fan working on the fan dial! :)

Tim has also managed to insulate all the loft and put up a whirley gig to get rid of the hot air from the loft ( does not include all Tims swearing!). Tim was dressed accordingly in long sleeves and shorts!?? to stop the fibres making him itch and sweating for Oz it was disgusting and very smelly! When he was on the roof trying to sort out the whirley gig he was clambering around like a cross between a monkey and an elephant he was on all fours but leaning backwards (like a crab i suppose so that makes a trinimal!?) and every time he moved it sounded like the roof was going to cave in! But he got the job done in two days as he ran out of light the first day, which was quicker than expected and a lot less swearing than the light and the roof insulation!

He did manage to burn his leg on the light he used in the loft as well which lead to much cussing and swearing and wanting huge amounts of sympathy! :)

Dogs by this time were not sure what was going on!

That's why I have not been blogging much (my excuse anyway!)

The house now feels that much cooler it is great, it must have dropped the temp at least 5-10 degrees. So now all he has to do is fit the next whirleygig as you need two on the roof to get maximum effect!?

While Tim was up o n the roof he took a picture of the view from there (see pic at top) shows you the sea on the east coast and a nice view of Fraser Is.

We shall wait for the rain to come and see if he has done a good job!!??? :)

Mind you that might be a long time as we have not had much and we are on water restrictions!

This was not what you thought the title of this blog was all about! Hope you are all disappointed! :)

It was all about the nice new cool fan installed!!
