34 degrees in the pool!

Gosh! never thought i would experience weather like this!
90% humidity 32 degrees out side and 34 degrees in the swimming pool!

Phew!

I am glowing like a belesha beacon! (think thats how you spell it????????????)

We spoke to my parents this week they phoned up and frightened the life out of me, i just could not get through to them after mum mistakenly phoned the mobile. But eventually she got through to us using a phone card, they just wanted a chat and to see if it worked!

Tim has had more work and is enjoying it! even though some of the calls are challenging! As the people are really not sure what is wrong with their computers!

One lady just keeps coming around the house!!?? not sure why she does not use the phone!!?? But as she cant read well(or drive well not sure which) she mounts the curb drives up the grass until she is about a foot away from the front path and then gets out!!??

Glad i was not watering the garden!

Tim has booked a dive trip, morning only to Bunderburg to see the local dive sites and see what is around and hopefully meet up with some people who want to dive all the time!!

He has also been sorting out the garage or shed as they call it here and getting to look like a home from home (or should i say a bit anally retentive with the tool layout!).

The dogs are hot and just get grumpy and want to mess around with the hose, the plants need watering constantly! and Tim needs beer every 2 seconds!

otherwise we are doing ok!

Monday 22nd auspicious day!?

Well Tim went for his interview at scary Marybourgh and came back in one piece but not sure if he had the job or not!!??

So he will have to wait a week to find out if they want him or not, its only until June (i think ) but its something until he gets a job he wants. He has had a few calls already this week for Whale computer solutions so its keeping him busy and out of trouble and the rest of the ceilings feet free!

I went to glass class today and have started my dragon! and might i say that it looks fab! taken me ages to do as all the bits have to be sorted while i am there and i have no time to do anything at home as i do not have the equipment! :)

The other lady, Jan, is sorted and has finished her lamp shade pieces and with do it all this week, so she started on a new project, she will be doing a candle lamp holder!! i feel so inadequate! :(

But at least Glenda praised me this week for doing my pieces so well! But i nipped a few off in the wrong places but sorted it out, she said that was a true expert, able to get out of trouble!! UMM! i think that will be me week after week!

Went to Robs for dinner as it was his birthday, Clive cooked BBQ and it was fab! i want to go every week! They are really nice people and are so easy to get on with, they even take the piss out of us, but nicely !

Have had some good responses regarding work for me here and UK so very excited will tell you more later but dont want to ruin my chances by telling you now!

bad day

well Sunday was not so hot (not the weather!!) we went to see happy feet ............... great movie loved it!

Tim bought some beer for Rob to say thanks for fixing our boiler/ water heater whatever they call it here! Stayed there longer than expected and left me in the gym working out!

Got fed up and went and saw Robyn at the shop, got back and he was sorting out ceiling fan in chill out room, did not go to plan!

He got frustrated and could not get the wire down from the roof and ended up putting his foot through the ceiling in my bath room!

The puppy dog chewed my shoe and he also chewed up my first ever bit of sewing i did at school!

Sometimes it makes you think the world is not quite on your side and life does not always look so rosey as we want it to!

But then again no one wants to hear bad news or some one moaning so i don't normally put all the hassle times on here! But rest assured we have them :)

the black hole and time

My goodness
A whole week has gone passed and it only feels like yesterday!

Well Copper has been to another class and seems to have doubled in size compared to all the other pups! He is huge now and still keeps falling down the stairs as he is not very good when he first wakes up!

This week we saw the two Helens and Charlie was having his bath washed out and getting a good clean! We took cake around to all and collected some more animals for Tims bath room! Its like Australia zoo in there now! We dropped off the toilet seat hoping H could do something with it!? Wait and see and all will become clear! They have invited us to Auzzy day BBQ on the 26th Jan! Tim found dead turtle on beach, think it had been hit by a boat :(

Tim picked up his business sign and it now proudly sits outside the house, but been a bit slow for business this week. It might be because his ad is dyslexic and repeats the same sentence twice over!! Which he sorted out this week and is now getting a weeks free advertising because of it!

Roxy's face looks so much better the swelling has gone down and the sores are disappearing, Cooper still manages to pull her lips to play and get any food he wants! He is becoming a bit of a bully and will have to be sorted out! Cooper has now learnt down and does it well as he is mad for food you can get him to do anything!!?? Well we shall see!?

Went out to dinner with John and Dulcie to La Concha which was very nice but the service was a bit slow and the waitress had no patience as they could not make up their minds what they wanted to eat and she was a bit rude! They are not very good at service here at all!

It was not too much of a late night, but it had been a long day as i had played squash in the morning, then the dog classes and straight out for dinner! It was good to get to bed.

The first Ozzy BBQ was a success and Tim was shown how to cook all different stuff for everyone, a good time was had and we met the next door neighbours, Rob and Jenny who have two children, Nicola and Joshua both really lovely children. They invited us around to dinner on Friday night so it was a busy few days eating out, but nice not to have to cook. The food was really nice and we came home with more than we went over with!

Rob came around and helped sort out our gas heater as it has not worked properly since we had it moved.

We now have a water ban in Hervey Bay and so watering the garden is restricted to strange times, so i was watering the garden at 2.45am then again at 5am then up again at 6am! So was shattered and slept in this morning until 9.30am. While up and watering the garden the sky was magic! It looked like black velvet with a million diamonds sprinkled out on it for you to choose which one you wanted! If i was not so tired i would have spent more time outside looking, and apart from that i was worried about snakes, spiders and all the other things that come out at night!!??

My sun catcher frog was completed on Monday and i was very proud of it, it was more like a warty toad but beautiful just the same! I am now on to a dragon head for my next project and have loads of other things planned after !! So watch this space, lots of sun catchers for xmas for everyone!

Luke has now started his new job and seems to be enjoying it even after a few scary moments before the big day as we all have had! So proud of my baby, and it was his birthday this week too! He was a bit embarrassed about the dialek cake i sent him with exterminate sound chip in it too! :)

Tim has got an interview for a job on Monday so watch this space!!

I am still sorting loads out and not much being done on the house, Tim dug out the sand pit and we now have a pond, not sure about gold fish though as the water temp is about 30 degrees a bit too hot for the fish!!??

Filling in the gaps

Well as Tim said i would be filling in more details as he gets bored quickly and I enjoy filling in all the small details!

Last week again was a week of loads doing to the house, we never seem to get any further forward the house just looks the same constantly even though it has swallowed up most of our money!

More hassles with the barracuda in the pool as it keeps getting stuck over the drain plug and not doing what it should, by keeping the pool nice and clean :) It also started making this huge sucking sound which is like water going down a plug hole but 20 times louder and annoying to us let alone the neighbours! Tim found out it was a split in some hose in some part of the barracuda!

Cooper had his injection on Monday so he can now go for walks, which is interesting as he constantly wants to eat roxys face as we walk along! Tim took Cooper for his injection as i started my stained glass window class this Monday!Was very excited and decided i was going to do a dragon head to start!

Not so simple! I had to start off learning all the techniques and then i could get on to the dragon head next week! I was so excited that the other woman did not turn up so it was a private lesson and so i leapt ahead and got more lessons done in one day. I am making a purple frog with red eyes and feet! So i learnt how to cut a pattern out, trace it to glass, cut the pattern out on the glass and grind it down to a good shape. My homework is to foil it and next week i will solider it. Very excited and looking forward to making loads of sun catchers, then on to lamp shades and then more exciting stuff if i don't cut off my fingers before then!

Strange not to get any mail at the moment after all the post for Christmas! A big thank you to all of you who were kind enough to send cards at a huge cost of 72p seems so expensive to the 105 cents here! They even reduce the cost to post here in Oz and to the UK for Christmas to help every one! Bless!

Luke called this week and he now has a new job which he sounds really excited about and for a change is being paid almost good money which will help him live a bit better in London. It was nice to know he was ok as i have been worrying as us mums do! We cant help it it is programmed into us to worry! He has also split up from his girl friend so is going through a big change at the moment! Bless! I know he will focus on work and sort himself out, he is a great lad (takes after me ! not his dad there!! ...................... don't tell Nick i said that!!) so he will find another girl when he is ready! Good luck in your new job my baby! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX He starts Friday the 12th Jan!

The fridge/freezer has been plumbed in and we now have running cold filtered water and crushed ice on the go! so nice! As the temp has now soared to a hight of 33 degrees and nearly 90% humidity which is flooring me!

I had 3 showers today and now only just feel sweat free! the first was after doing the gardening, we started at 5.30am and finished about 8am just in time for me to have a shower before going off to pay squash, got trashed as i could not run for anything as i was just sweating buckets! Got back had a swim in the pool then had a shower and we went down the tip with all the garden stuff as it seems to have been hanging around for ever and it worries you as it is so easy for it to catch fire so hard working day! After 3 trips to tip and time out shopping for food got back to have a quick wash to take Cooper to puppy classes!

But not before i slurped down a quick beer :)

The dishwasher is also plumbed in and working! Wooooo! Hooooo! no dirty dishes hanging around and nothing hanging around on the draining board my pet hate!

Got back at 7.20pm and decided i was too lazy to cook so pizza came :) so not much dishwashing!

Now can hardly keep my eyes open so i am off to bed :)

Tim is making his computer chair up and Roxy is asleep in the lounge and cooper is under my feet flaked out with the fan beating down on him! After his exciting night with all the pups, he found a favourite a black lab called storm! they spent the whole time playing! He did do some work but not too much!

Time passes

The surround for the kitchen diner is complete, Yvonne has filled all the holes and gaps so it is looking OK, just needs some paint.

Work rolls in slowly for WCS, better than nothing!

Yvonne got drunk on red wine.

Cooper has had his second jab and had his first walk to the beach today, duck to water, or rather boxer to water.

Fridge is finally plumbed in as is the dishwasher, so all mod cons now operational.

Sure there is much more important stuff, Yvonne will fill in the details I have no doubt.

Monster beetle

No not some hideous hybrid of a nice bike and a crap car, but something Cooper decided would make a fun toy, as if he hasn't enough already as well as Roxy to chomp on.

Rhinoceros beetle, about 8cm long complete with great hissing sound. Safe to handle as long as they don't grab you. Only the males have the horn! If a human had the equivalent strength they would be able to lift 65 tonnes.

New Years Eve

Well we started off new years eve with a lie in the dogs let us without any hassle! We cant wait until the warmer weather as it is a bit too mild for them at the moment to stay out as Cooper keeps shivering and we dont want him to catch a cold and end up with huge vet fees!

So in they stay (as we talked ourselves into it!) and we have broken nights sleep, it is Roxy who gets up and wakes us up, we need to shut the bedroom door but it is so hot that you need the air flow!

Tim was very happy today as we went to his local store again! Bunnings and we bought some more stuff to sort out all the DIY bits that need doing to the house! more cement for the washing line and a fan for the spare room as we know the air flow is not too good in there and we are hoping to have visitors soon!

We then went to Flash Harrys store! (its a bit like the pound shop! but everything seems to be $2!) and got all those bits you need that you left behind, blue tack, tacks, batteries etc and met David, Johns son as we were coming out. We did not recognise them as it was strange we recognised the car but not the people! So we said hi and went to finish the shopping that we had to do! Well not really shopping as we bought a sideboard unit and there were some screws and bits missing so we went to see if we could get them sorted. Then it was home to finish bits off and get ourselves ready to go to lunch with the Lennon's and their crowd for new years eve celebrations.

We met up at the Lennons and took four of them in the car, as we can seat 7 in the car!! first time we used the seats in the boot and it did not look comfortable at all as i tried to get in and save the others as they are in their 70's but Barry beat me too it and was all squished in as he had very long legs.

Barry and his wife are really interesting as they have built their own house and boat! and are a mine of information which we tried to tap without it getting too much for them!

David and his wife went in Johns car and followed us, we were heading off to Dunduran and the Akarra tea rooms. Its Balanise and you sit out side in big covered pergolas it was very beautiful and well worth a visit back there.

John was navigating and we went straight passed it but managed to double back and get the road right! flight of the navigator was not on track as they had been there before (it must have been in the dark :) )

David had to take Charlie for a walk to let him nod off to sleep so they could have a good meal, but as kids do they make sure all your plans are foiled! and he stayed awake, but he was very well behaved and did not run riot at all so nice to see.

We had a few clumsy moments when the waiter dropped the ginger beer over the whole table, then he could not take orders for more drinks as he was only the delivery boy! then Dulcie knocked over Johns lemon and lime bitters all over him and Charlie after that was sorted we then had to wait for a waiter to take our orders for more drinks again, then they had run out of normal drinks and all that was left was diet which did not please everyone!

So we ordered the food and hoped that would be ok, when it came it was great and all went down very well. The drinks still did not come and we had to re order and ask again and poor Charlie was still waiting for his milk! The Lennons and I had Magic mushrooms!! i asked for extra magic with mine!! :)

Finally it was all ok and we were ready to move on to desert as Tim had seen ice-creams on the menu i knew he was making room for them! But the ice-creams were at a counter and you had to go and get them yourself!? At the counter the girls did not seem to interested in serving ice-creams and got mine wrong as soon as i asked! So i went off with a loaded double chocolate cone dripping down my top in the heat (you have to eat them quick here as the melt so quickly!)

The puddings that were ordered from the table for meringues were not available!! We were having a bit of a lucked out day with ordering and we were not that late in to eat, 1pm !!??

So after a few sulks other puddings were ordered, i went for a walk with Charlie to see his grandad, but he side tracked me and took me to see some big parrots then we went for a walk around the grounds, to see the crocodile, the ducks, frogs, quails, and loads of water birds. Then we saw a dead fish and lots of other little birds that i have no idea what they were!

We walked back and found Tim wondering around trying to find us, so we went off with a walk with him and took him around to see what we had seen.

It was a stunningly beautiful place and the food was good, it was just let down by the service.

Tim was not too keen on his steak sandwich but then i would never have had steak sandwich as the meat should be the best there is to be tender enough to bite through!

While i was walking around with Charlie they all settled the bill and we left, Tim went to get car and picked us all up from the front so we did not have to walk!

We got back safe and went to see Barrys canoe but declined to take it out then, we said maybe later as we had to go feed the dogs and make sure they had not dug their way out of the garden!

But once home and comfortable I fell asleep watching the highlights of 2006 on the TV then woke to ground hog day which I watched and then we decided to go to the local new years eve film and fireworks at the local oval.

It was the busiest we had seen the roads, full of cars and they were all trying to park to get into see the fireworks. Tim did his usual and parked as far as he could from everything and then we walked to the grounds, it was heaving with families out with the kids having fun, people sitting watching Narnia on the big screen and the fun fair buzzing in the background. It was dark and the whole place was lit up with the yellow glow from the funfair bulbs. The smell of jacket potatoes, roasting nuts, hot dogs (with real sausages) and freshly made coffee was enticing!

We sat to watch the film but as we had not bought any chairs could not really see above peoples heads, there were a few interruptions to the film as it had some scratches on it, then a little 4 year old lost his dad so they made and announcement for that. So we gave up and went for a stroll, the fireworks were starting in 10 mins so we just sttod around watching the world go by as Tim cuddled up to me as he was cold (wearing only a t shirt and shorts!).

The fireworks began and we were shocked into stunned silence for at least 2 mins until we realised that what they had set off was meant to be the big display :( it was quite sad, it was just like the fireworks you would have in your back garden for bonfire night! with a few big ones in the middle and one at the very end, it was really hard to see the full effects of the fireworks!

We decided to walk back to the car and see if there was a better view on the way and at the same time beat the rush to leave as there were so many cars. We saw a bit more on the way to the car but not a lot, so back to car and a bit of off roading to get home! It was good but it would have been better watching it from the beach, but locally they would not let you go to the beach as it was ruled to be dangerous!!??

Back home we watched the Joules Holland equivalent which was very scary! Some of the things they do are very weird! and so are some of the people!

Finally the fireworks were shown on Sydney H Bridge which were stunning, a full 25 minutes of blasts in 7 locations all with the same fireworks, it was spectacular! We would have been there this year with friends but we decided that we would be better spending the money on the house!!??

Not sure that was a good move now after seeing it on TV, perhaps next year if we have friends over for Xmas?

We had a phone call from Luke which was great to hear his voice and he was exited about his new year celebrations having lots for friends around him and his first new year in London he was very excited. As well as the fact it was his last day at work and it was going to be a relief as he could find a job with sensible hours of work.

Tims mum called and we spoke to her too, she sounded a bit down and sad as she was on her own for new year and not doing anything.


Today 1st January 2007 we had a number of calls

From Bob and Tracey, a good friend of mine in Wimborne, Malcom Budden and Margaret my best mate from School it was so lovely to hear their voices and feel like we were home again. We listened to the new year being bought in on the live radio link on the internet so we celebrated both new years! and had a sleep in between! We had a number of text messages too which was really nice from some very special friends all in all it was rather nice to be remembered so well. Perhaps next year will not be quite the same!!???

Today Tim has sorted out the washing line and taken down the old one, strangely he says it has made the garden shrink as your eye is not drawn to the monstrosity in the middle of the lawn!

Strange how excited you can get about a new washing line!!??
