Well as you all probably know we got married on Friday the 12th October 2007
The run up to the wedding was as normal, hectic and fraught, strangely not for me but for everyone else!!??
I was chilled and just taking every day step by step, as everyone said I had done it twice before so I should be chilled!
We nearly finished the house, painting decorating etc but just ran out of time, we had so much help from the two girls, Ed and Helen who were magnificent, they helped paint, scrub, clean, make gifts and then serve food on the wedding day! Not sure what I would have done without them!
All our new Ozzy friends had pulled together to help us out in one way or another, Jenny next door was chief wedding co-ordinator and had made the garden look so fabulous it was tear moving. Robyn had given me numbers of people to hire equipment and anything I needed she knew someone who could help.
Matt and Liz helped with the food along with Ed, Helen and myself who did the prep work for Matt it.
Instead of almonds in a little bag for each guest we made stained glass sun catchers for each one, my glass teacher came over and we spent 12 hours in the shed with Ed and Helen just cutting, grinding, foiling and leading each piece, it was hard work but fun
The 8th came and everyone from the UK descended on us, it was great to see them all, Tims mum, his aunt, Luke, Bob, Tracey and their son Kieran.
The mum, aunt and Luke all arrived at the local airport where we fetched them from. All please to be off a plane and close to having a shower.
Bo and Tracey came later as they had decided to fly on to Brisbane from Sydney and drive to us.
Much gardening, food prep and frillyness was going on.
There was the normal wedding stuff that happened, Bob and Tracy had a huge row at Cassys birthday meal and made it very awkward for everyone spoiling the evening for Cassy who had had a really nice day up until then.
One the day of the wedding Tim and Shirley fell out over him not introducing her to people, Tim was up to his eyes in sorting out stuff and not really thinking of things like that, after a blat on his bike he came back and all was made up, thank god!
All the girls got their hair done and then it was my turn, Luke picked the girls up and took them off once they were done, all looking very beautiful I must say!
I had my hair done and makeup and then Luke whisked me off to the hotel we were going to honeymoon at so I could get ready in peace and be relaxed. As we realised that the house was just too small for so many people and no one wanted to use Tims bathroom!!?? So it was a bit crowded.
Luke ended up staying in a local cabin as there was just not room in the house, which was upsetting for me as I wanted him near to keep me sane.
So Luke and I went to the room and it was great, peace quiet and relaxing!
We opened a bottle of strawberry champagne they had left for Tim and I, but as Tim hates champagne and strawberries Luke and I had it. We got ready and soon it was time to go! It seemed like 5 minutes rest before everything!
Luke went off in a taxi back to the house as the boat was cancelled due to high winds, which both Tim and I were very upset about.
So the wedding was to be held in the garden, which did look beautiful so I was not too worried, by this time we had resigned ourselves to the fact that if we could get married at all it would be good it did not matter how at this stage.
The fire thrower, juggler had disappeared off the face of Oz, who we had hired, the band had cancelled because they thought it would rain, and the wedding cake was not what I wanted as everyone would not let me just get on and make it they all wanted to put their fingers in the chocolate and not be helpful at all!
Colin a friend was picking me up in his corvette and taking me to the house, on the way there was a huge black heavy cloud looming over us. But as we travelled to the house it was behind us, I was hoping and praying!
We made a grand entrance in to the house skidding a bit and with great laughter!
It was all very beautiful, all our very good friends and some family were there, all the faces I could see were all smiling, it looked great.
I went to the house to get my flowers; Tracy did not get her flowers as they had been given away to Shirley to wear!? The bridesmaids should have both been wearing white, but tracy decided that she was wearing white with pink which clashed with my dress and Nicola looked like the perfect bride in her white dress, but I did not see Nicolas flowers so not sure if she had hers? Nicola refused to walk down to the bottom of the garden So tracy did but not sure why, but she stopped half way? Luke and myself followed but the intro to the song was so long it had hardly played by the time I was there.
Tim looked great and was smiling from head to toe, we started to say our vows and the sky turned black! A bit more and the wind blew up, a few more words and the heavens opened and the eye of the storm was on us!
Thunder, lightening, and torrential rain! Gods fireworks!
So the wedding was stopped and we all ran into the shed!
20 minutes later the rain was still so hard that we could not hear each other talking! So the bar was opened!
Tim ran to try and Pat had thought he was doing a runner!
Half an hour later the intensity had died down enough to hear the celebrant and we continued, in the shed!
Not the wedding I had in mind al those months ago!
We said our vows again, nearly getting married twice; Tim had bought me a new ring which was a surprise! And the rain gently subsided and we went out to survey the damage.
The table cloths were dripping; the balloons had been ripped off and sucked up into the vortex of the storm.
The decorations jenny had made had survived and it still looked pretty
Luke worked like a trooper and got all the soggy cloths off and the party continued.
Matt the chef was running around in the rain and had got soaked to the skin! Bless him! But still carried on! What a trooper
The rest of the evening went on without a fault, to my knowledge
Finally we said our goodbyes and headed to the hotel in a taxi.
It was dark and we could not see much on the journey to the hotel.
After a having a soak in the hot tub we hit the sack and like an old couple, fell asleep talking, waking later with the lights on
The next morning we drove back to the house as we had to pick the dogs up from the kennels, only to see the destruction that had happened from the storm!
We saw 15 trees down; friends had had parts of roofs ripped off shade sails had been torn from their fixings, the boat we should have gone on had its life bouys ripped off, the sonar and parts of the cabin screening!
Then we realised how lucky we were that the wedding had not been totally trashed!
How lucky were we!
Just to let you all know, that we decided that I would keep my name so I am
NOT
MRS YVONNE TRIM
I have kept my family name of MILES, as there are no boys in the family I am keeping it on!
so I am still, MS Yvonne Miles

Long time no write
Well after getting in contact with a few people we have not spoken to in a long long while i thought i would start the blog again as it is easier for people to read or not and it does not clog up their inbox with useless crap! about people they have long forgotten!
Was shocked at how long ago it was since we wrote on the blog but fun going back and reading all about the stuff we did.
Well a quick up date for those who dont know..........

Back to Oz weather just cooling down a bit, Tim still moaning about me going away, but spending loads of money on boys things while i am away.
Started working on whale watching boat doing eco tours, not quite what i was expecting as i ended up doing food for them for a while. A whale watch boat trolly dolly :) and a bit old for that!
Great mate, Dave (or Chippy as know to some) had a bleed in brain so was very seriously ill for a while, saw him when i went back and he still had great sense of humour and called me an ozzy bitch (it might have been witch but very sure it was bitch!) nice to see him and have a laugh, not as good as our pervious pub crawls, but looking forward to going out on them when i come back in Oct 2008

Comming Home
well its been a very strange time!
I have come back to the UK and managed to see some family and friends (to be honest it was only friends that have been in constant touch with us as time is so limited), a big sorry to all those i did not manage to see.
I will be back in May to do some more work if it all comes off!? so might see some of you then?
Well when i landed it was cold, grey and raining hard, Nick picked me up at 5am from Heathrow, Bless his cotton socks how many ex-husbands would do that for the witch they divorced! And not only that he lent me his car for the time i was here, having to get transport all himself!
I did manage to get new break pads and shoes for him with the help of Chris who pointed me in the direction of a mate who did a good job for little money. I then managed to replace all Nicks hubcaps and cable tie them to the wheels as i thought they had been stolen while i had the car, only to find when i got back that nick was trying to hide a big smirk on his face, he then owned up to the fact they had been stolen 2 years ago and he had not replaced them! :) the car did look bling until he scratched then on the curb yesterday!
Work was hard as we had a number of idiots on the course, always hard work when you get those that have been drinking hard the night before and then fall asleep or start burping farting etc! Or the other extreme when they block every thing you say with a negative, so glad when the course was finished!
Big thanks to my mate Nick (Vet lab man) who got me a nice dolphin spare rib to show to the class.
Tried to see my sponsor for my PhD while here but did not manage to, as we made 4 arrangements and all were cancelled at the last minute! so bit depressed about that but hopefully it will all get sorted for the future! did manage to talk to the person who will be my supervisor and he is great, he had such a stinking cold but was such a laugh!
Saw mum and dad and managed not to frighten the life out of them when i turned up. Did not want to tell them i was coming as the dates kept changing for the course and i was just waiting to make sure it was not cancelled, otherwise if i had said i was coming and did not they might have been upset (or is that wishful thinking). Had a lovely time with them, and it was not so hard saying goodbye knowing that i have more work in May and will get to see them again.
A huge thanks to all of those who gave me a room for the night while i was making my way around, especially Chris, he was such a huge help and great company and i was very well looked after! :) thanks mate xx Please come and visit :) no more nagging, you are welcome anytime so we can pay back the hospitality!
It was fantastic seeing baby Kieron for the first time and he is such a good baby, but does have a healthy pair of lungs on him at times (mainly feeding). Tried to steal him and bring him back but did not manage!
Saw Elizabeth too who has grown and makes me feel dewcidedly short and very old! Thanks Ben & Helen for the wine and good company!
Sorted out a lot of things we had to leave here when we left, but hopefully now i will get to take it all back unless i am over weight again! (the bag not me!) :)
Well today i am leaving after spending a day with my baby (all 23 years of him) and he will be over to see us at the end of this week, i am so looking forward to showing him around our little haven of Oz. Hopefully we will have a lot planned for him, horse riding, diving, flights over to Fraser Is etc our first big fun time. But with only Luke and i as Tim now has a temp job :)
So now i can be a kept woman for a few weeks :)
It was nice getting up this morning to 18 degrees (but still feeling cold!) the sun is out and hopefully i will be taking it back with me to Oz! Looking forward to getting home to Tim and the pups, missed them all more than i thought i would!
I will be straight in to the pool for a swim when i get back which wont be until the 14th due to the time difference. So wont be back in Hervey bay until 12.20pm !
Then 4 days until Luke arrives on Mothers day! :)
Nick is taking me to the airport to dump me there tonight (so hope we make it on time as we were 2hours late for lunch yesterday!)
Gulp!
I am taking back presents from Mum and Dad and a few that Luke and myself shopped for most of Sat in Camden Markets (which was fantastic!). Wish i had taken my camera there!
Had a fantastic meal with Nick and Luke at the OXO tower in London, the view was stunning, but my batteries on my camera ran out! so have a few i took on my phone which i will put up once i get back and Tim has shown me how to do it yet again! The service was fantastic and the food was incredible !!!!
Nick always manages to do something spectacular when i see him and Luke (i am on the look out now for when he comes to visit us this time next year!).
Margaret managed to get me to see Mark (school friend) and is making sure i get a good seat home, after 36 years of friendship you think she would be fed up of me! But i love her as much as you would a sister, in fact she is much more :) She is coming back after a day at work to see me on to the plane and sit with me until then, i know we will cry again! But i look forward to the day when her and Steve and maybe the kids come and visit!
Bless you all for you love and comfort you have given me while here, it has made my time away easier.
Talk soon in a few days

Employment and vile
Blimey, I've been offered a job! Only for a couple of months initially but hopefully will turn into something longer, bit of money coming in anyway which is a bonus. A foot in the door is always a good thing.
Can't not comment on The Biggest Loser, a kind of Big Brother Meets Fat Club. Never have I seen a person so vile as Courtney, what a cnut, just a fundamentally nasty twat with no redeeming features. You have man breasts for a reason, learn from Earl.
Roxy turns more submissive by the day, she lets Cooper take her lamb shank, wonders will never cease.
A day closer to Ronnie, hurrah.

The first Hot birthday!
Well today started with a bang (a scare really as i have hit the over the hill mark!) no explosions :) but an explosive start to the day !
Up at 05.45 and down to the airport! (yes Hervey Bay does have one!) Then 15 minutes later and a pink fluffy drinks holder (which i am saving for Nick!) as a present from the Flight company, we were up in the air.
Tims last wish was that we were not flying in the cesner as he had heard they fall out of the sky all the time!! And low and behold it was :) Colour draining from his face and perking up in mine!
In the plane we clambered and all safely tucked in off we went! up and away and heading to Point Vernon where we live as i wanted a good look over the area and the house!
I had no idea where we were so i just kept taking pictures in the hope i would get it in one of them! And i did, i will put it up here but you need to enhance it to about 100% to see the house i have marked it in red so it should be easier to find than the half hour it took me!
Tim took one and even go the dog in the garden! so when he gets back he will put it up i am sure! (Tim was called out to do some work on a friends PC so i am waiting for him to come back and then we were going for a drink)
You will just have to make do with mine for now!
When we landed i was taken to breakfast, having a nice muffin and chocolate milkshake (Dave gave me hassle for putting down all the food that we have eaten over our time here and said he was bored and did not want to read that in the blog!
So sorry Dave, it was my first ever hot birthday and to have an ice-cream milk shake on it and not freeze to death was an experience for me!
We then got home to find a bunch of flowers had tried to be delivered and a note saying to ring! Well my little baby sent me flowers from the other side of the world!!!! How fantastic! and what a nice treat, my first ever bunch of flowers in Oz! Lots of firsts today! :) They even smelled as good as they looked, with a cute ickkle ladybird stuck on a leaf (not a real one, just wood) and some glitter on the gerbera and the red roses! And strangely all the roses smell great, not sure how forced they are in the UK but i have had very few that have had a smell at all!
Back at the house was a gift waiting from John and Dulcie a lovely stained glass beginners book to inspire me more! So move over Steve Sherrif Yvonne's in Oz and loves it! The house will be filled with it and every one will get glass gifts from now on so be warned!
My morning wake up of the larakeets was not to be, as there is a shortage of sunflowers seeds and you just cant get them anywhere so the bird have gone else where to get what they want :(
We are out to dinner tonight with some friends at Hoolihans the Irish bar/foody place, so looking forward to celebrating getting old with different friends (strange not having the old ones around to hassle you!).
Well talking of hassle! a big thanks Margaret for reminding me that i am 6 months older than her and that i will need a sheep dog bra!! to round my breasts up and point them in the right direction! :) You wait for your birthday girl!!! Mum and Dad for again reminding me how old i am!!, Shirley, Bob and Tracey and Avril! To be honest i was not expecting any all this way (as you have to be very organised to send them a week in advance!) but i did get the e-greeting cards from, my Aunt Lorna (very switched on and hip she is) Nick and Gary! As you are all fast asleep and its not really my birthday yet i am sure there will be more to come tonight so please dont be upset, i probably did get your message but while i was out at dinner or sleeping!
And fro those who forget!!!I will remind you constantly every day until my next birthday!
You better all start saving up as when i hit the big 50 there is going to be a big party here in Oz (if i make the next 3 years without being eaten by a shark or bitten by a snake or spider!)
As Tim is not back and it is 15.30 i will get my own beer from the fridge and read my stained glass window making book (and have 40 winks!) before i go out for dinner tonight!
will add more blog later after we have been out for dinner!
big luv to you all and lots of thanks for remembering me

When Harry Met Ronnie
Another one of Tim's favourite shops, he is always teasing me that he has seen Harry in the store at Pialba Place Hervey Bay!
Last week we went shopping and there he was large as life! So as his ad is so dynamic and must have cost millions to make I thought that I would ask him if I could have my picture taken with him to show the folks back home!
This is a local shop for local people!
Click below to see his advert!
Takes a while to load so be patient! :)
Flash Advert!
Harry (aka Adrian) was very obliging and put on his best grin for me!
Apparently there are bus loads shipped in from Bundy to just go and see Harry! And they all ask to have their photo taken with him!!
What a star!
:)
